Here's my watercolor of a squid. If I have time, I am going to do another one. I am not super please with this one. I really need to learn patience with watercolor. We all got a stinky raw calamari to take home. Pat said to take photos and draw sketches quick because it wouldn't last through the weekend.
Looks like he's dancing.
Close up of his mouth.
Angel squid
Measured line drawings
Sketch for teh painting
Gestural drawing, including a closeup of the mouth/beak

I will try to post more regularly. But I am in charge of my own scans sometimes, now. Can't do the watercolor ones on my own because the scans ruin them. But I did get those acrylic inks that I love, and those seem to scan ok.
Sketches of the mole accountant. And a possible idea for some Evelyn Evelyn fan art.
These are practice sketches for a test character for an up coming story.
These are some practice sketches of some of my favorite artists drawings' of children. Top-right is Kate Beaton's style. Under that is some sorry-ass attempts at Skottie Young's style. In the middle is Studio Gihbli style, specifically Ponyo, who is adorable. And below that, some of the Gorey kids from Gnashly Crumb Tinies.
Oof. I started an autobio comic at spazhandscomic.blogspot.com. It will update Tuesday Thursday starting this week and I already opened a bunch of stuff.
Well, here's some other stuff I have done.
Magic Bottle crew by ~lunavalse on deviantART
I recently read The Magic Bottle by Camille Rose Garcia. I liked it but I got it at the library so I will probably have to go buy it later. The art is spectacular.
I am currently on an art vacation at my mom's. Well, I am currently in her car waiting for her to deliver some work for her graphic design business. But before that I went to cosmic Comics in Bellingham and they now sell our comics. And yesterday we went to The Comics Place in bellingham and they also sell our comics now. Good times for the peopl of bellingham.
The tapir is the first finished art of mine on this vacation. Already have another one done of emus. And I hae started other paintings of a redd tree kangaroo, an axlotl, and river otter. And I penciled a comic about a fight between two red footed tortoises.
Off to dakota art for art supplies since I just got paid. :D
First, a note. Flying Dodo Publications is down for a bit for lame reasons. But when it is up, you should go read my posts about our trip to Stumptown Comic Fest, the best comic thing to go to. One is up and another will go up when I can get back on the site.
So as you can see, I have been doing stuff, I guess I just need to get back into the practice of posting it. :| But my IT guy is busy with school so it starts to pile up.
Sleepy by ~lunavalse on deviantART
I did this at Drink and Draw a couple nights ago. These guys are fun to draw.
Yay! Finally snowed in Seattle. I had to work from home today. Boy am I glad I did. I thought about driving, but Abe posted some pictures of the snow on his blog so you can see it is a good thing I did not.
Batwoman Leaps by ~lunavalse on deviantART
Batwoman was for the End of year sketch challenge at Ten Ton Studios. You can vote tomorrow. If you draw, you have until tonight to enter. If you win, you get all the drawings! I hope I win. I like my drawing. Fortunately, Abe got a bunch of pictures of it. I pic hard colors to duplicate on screen though.
I think this is understood. But I did color it with Copic markers.
I really like Power Girl: Bomb Squad, but that is about it. She is funny and sarcastic and pulls all sorts of ugly faces, like when she is getting punched. Great stuff. Great artist. But because of the New 52, it is no more. Boo.
A bit of watercolor I did over the weekend. The drawing didn't turn out the way I wanted and I shouldn't have chosen brown pants, but other than that it is fine...
Some practice drawings of Abe cartoons. To go with the one of me.
I think I am going to use this one but I will change the legs like the one on the top.
Practice of the dogs as cartoons. I think they turned out well. Ernie's based on a sausage, hence the tail. He was pretty fat a year ago and was nicknamed Sausage by our neighbors. He has lost a bunch of weight now.
