Not every book review or comic review I do will include a rating, like the ones I do for Technical Communication magazine for STC, but most will. I will rate the various aspects of the book or comic. For example, comics will include art, story, and over all.
To make it easier, I use a 5 star rating. I was going to go with 3 stars, but I wanted a separate category for the extra good and the extra bad. You should mostly expect 4 stars from me.
1 star: I hated it with a fiery passion. Keeping it in my house makes my skin crawl.
2 stars: didn't particularly care for it. Might not get rid of my copy.
3 stars: Can't decide. Meh. What happened in it again?
4 stars: Simply good. I really enjoyed it, but it didn't blow my mind.
5 stars: Amazing! My life is more complete for having read it.
